About Us

Owned by Philip Oates and Steve Parsons, Zebedee's Lunch Box was developed to satisfy an opportunity in the catering market. Philip and Steve are both professionally trained caterers who have worked extensively throughout the UK and Europe in high quality establishments. Recognizing the need for a service that would provide hot and nutritious meals for nurseries with limited kitchen space, they created Zebedee's Lunch Box - a 'meals on wheels' service for childcare and education.

Initially just the two of them, acting as chef, driver and office manager, they have now grown the company to over 45 members of staff and deliver to over 150 locations throughout the South East.

Steve Russell, Executive Head Chef, leads the kitchen team, all of whom have obtained either the Intermediate/Level 2 or 3 Award in Supervising in Food Safety. In-house training is regularly undertaken to ensure that all staff understand and adhere to the high standards in place. We also undertake regular audits of our health and safety procedures and HACCP plan, with our food safety consultant, Suzanne Goss.

Working closely with our Local Environmental Health Department, we have received a 5 star rating for our premises and are subject to regular inspections. Our business has received Approved Status under the 2005 EC Food Hygiene Regulations.
